Double Signing!
Ollie and Callum re-sign for 26/27!
The Chelmsford Chieftains are extremely excited to announce that both Ollie Balldock, and Callum Wells will be back in the Black 'n' Gold for the 26/27 season.
Ollie said the following...
"I'm proud to be returning to the Black & Gold for another season. It was an easy answer for me when asked to return. Growing up watching the Chiefs and now having the chance to play and captain them means a great deal to me.
Last season was a bit of a rollercoaster and we ultimately fell short of our silverware targets. It's something that the team are aware of and we're determined to learn from it and improve.
I'm sure Clema, Al and Matt are putting in the work this summer to give us everything we need to bounce back this season."
Callum had the following to say about his signing...
"Buzzing to be back with Chiefs for another season. Last year didn't end the way we wanted, coming so close and missing out on silverware but that's only added fuel going into this year.
There's unfinished business and I'm excited to be part of a team that's hungry to put it right.
The support from the fans means everything and I can't wait to get back out there in front of you all for another season."
And finally, a word from our Head Coach Clema...
On Oillie:
"When I knew I was taking the Head Coach role, Ollie was one of the first guys I spoke to. He's one of the top centres in the league and plays the game the right way at both ends of the ice.
He brings a lot of experience to the team and is always a team first guy and is someone I can trust out there on the ice, which is why I'm keeping him as team captain this season."
On Callum:
"It's great to have Wellsy back for another season. He has been a huge part of this team over the last few seasons. I remember I played with him, he is a goalies dream, very calm on the puck and can make a great first pass.
He plays with a lot of confidence and even though he doesn't have a letter on his jersey, he is one of the leaders of this team."
