Coaches thoughts (17th Dec)

Coach Cliff gives his thoughts on a difficult weekend of results

Hi Chieftains Fans.

I hope you are all well and getting in the mood for Christmas, which is just around the corner.

We had a disappointing weekend last time out, away in Solent and then at home to Streatham, unfortunately we came out both nights and had poor first periods, which in both games led to losses in games we really needed to and wanted to win.  Rest assured it is something that we will look at and address before we play again in 2 weeks time.

It was great to see Reg O’Neil make his debut, he fitted in seamlessly and we are all happy to have him here.

Turning negatives into positives, the response to the ‘Air the Bear’ initiative was amazing, the sheer number of bears was more than I had predicted and that is down to you guys and your generosity which as usual comes as no surprise, but to see it in action like that was quite something, so thank you again for that.  Myself and some of the boys are visiting the hospital on Monday where we will give away as many of the bears as we can and then we will make sure if there are any left they find their way to some equally deserving causes.

As this is the last time I will write one of these for a few weeks I would just like to thank you all for your constant unwavering support, and wish everyone in Chieftansland a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope you all get to spend some time with your loved ones and enjoy the festivities.  For those of you who for whatever reason don’t have it great at this time of year, do your best to get through it and we will all be here for you the first weekend of January when we take on Romford and Slough.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Cliff.
