Coach Cliff gives his thoughts on our superb win against Invicta Dynamos

Hi Chieftains Fans,

Thanks to everyone who came along on Sunday and created a great atmosphere as we hosted the Invicta Dynamos.

Games between Chelmsford and Invicta have always been competitively fought battles, predating my time here and I’m sure that will continue long into the future.  We have never had an easy game against the Dynamos since I have been with the Chieftains and despite what the final score may say, this wasn’t one either.  

We started the game well, scoring on the first shift and actually the whole 1st period was quite a one sided affair, we managed the puck well and didn’t give much away at all, a coaches dream of a period really. In the second we were scrappy and all the things we did well in the first deserted us, we gave way too much away and were quite fortunate that the Dynamos didn’t take half the chances we offered up to them. We came out of the period knowing we needed to be better in the third and to give all of the boys credit, they did that and closed the game out very maturely and responsibly.

We now prepare for a weekend with a long trip to Cardiff to face the Fire, followed by a home tie against local rivals Romford, no rest for us at the moment and we have to find ways each night to keep picking up points.
