New singing Josh Cook....
...and the return of Dan Hitchings for the 26/27 season.
We are excited to announce a new signing for Chieftains 26/27 season and the re-signing of Dan Hitchings too!
A word on Josh: The Canadian/British forward brings a wealth of experience and a strong two-way game, having iced in North America and UK during his career. A product of the Chelmsford junior system, Josh returns with experience from teams including the Prince Rupert Rampage and a reputation for hard work, physicality, and leadership on the ice.
Josh had the following to say about his signing:
"I'm thrilled to be putting the Chieftains jersey on again after 21 years. Chelmsford is where I began my hockey career and the organisation set me up for success at a young age before moving to Canada to pursue my hockey dreams.
Having the honour of representing Great Britain throughout my career and being a product of Chelmsford, it was an en easy decision for me to sign with Coach Clements and the incredible group of players he is bringing in for next season. Coming from being a policy officer in Canada for 5 years with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, I'm prepared to put my body on the line, game in, game out, for my team mates no matter what.
I am coming to Chelmsford with one goal for next season, to be crowned league champions."
Dan Hitchings had the following to say about his re-signing:
"Buzzing to be back for a fifth season with the boys. I can't wait to get back out there in front of the fans again and push for silverware.
I know last season didn't end the way we wanted but I believe the team Clem is building will put that right this season coming.
See you all soon."
...and a word from Clem about Josh:
I'm excited to bring Josh in for the new season, his drive and desire to get playing at a high level is going to be a massive boost for us as a team. He's a high energy player who shoots well and I believe he will help give us more depth to our lineup. Josh started his hockey journey as a Chelmsford jnr so I'm looking forward to seeing him in a Chieftains jersey."
....and a word from Clem about Dan:
"Bringing Hitch back was an easy choice, he's someone who keeps getting better every season. He's solid defensively and is very experienced at this level despite his young age which is massive for our D core.
Looking forward to working with him this coming season".
